EUDR and Beyond: Leveraging Product Origin for Compliance and Market Access
July 24, 2025
Join VEDP – International Trade for a timely webinar on the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and what it means for Virginia exporters. The EUDR is poised to reshape how businesses manage their supply chains, requiring companies to demonstrate their products are not linked to deforestation. Covering seven key commodities—cattle, cocoa, coffee, oil palm, rubber, soy, and wood—and many of their derived products, the regulation introduces strict due diligence and traceability requirements. With enforcement quickly approaching, businesses must understand how to comply and adjust their operations accordingly.
Our expert speaker, Rupert Oliver, Environmental Policy Director at the American Hardwood Export Council, will explain the current status of the EUDR, what changes are coming, and which businesses and products are affected. He'll also share about broader efforts to strengthen global market access through origin labeling—a strategy that highlights where your product comes from. These types of regional identifiers can help build trust with customers, communicate quality, and open new doors in global markets, especially for hardwood and timber products.
