Elizabeth Morgan-Brown graduated from Central Connecticut State University with a Special Studies Degree in Chinese Language and Business. She supplemented her degree with scholarship programs including a China Youth Corps summer program at National Cheng- Chi University in Taiwan and the Yale in China full year program at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She also qualified for an international internship through Lancashire Polytechnic in England, where she worked for Phillips Electronics as a translator for their Chinese television manufacturing tri-venture.
She began her international career in New York City trading oil and gas for Mitsui USA and then trading currencies for the New York Foreign Exchange on Wall Street. She gave up the four hour commutes and became a licensed risk analyst for The Hobbs Group and J&H Marsh Maclellan in Connecticut. As a risk analyst, she worked with major international accounts like the New York Stock Exchange, SUNY, Xerox, GTE and IBM to help insure their risk exposures. Prior to joining the VEDP, she worked for Reed Exhibition Companies. She spent five years in the US Export Division, where she was responsible for International Marketing and New Business Development across many industries including manufacturing, electronics, food service & hospitality, jewelry, processing, and building & construction. She also spent two years with Reed USA, selling exhibition space and sponsorships to the Processing and Bio-pharmaceutical industries.
